a lot has changed...

i know i have neglected this blog, which is a shame because i love to write and stay connected with people...i am just busy and when i am not busy, i am very very lazy...

so, consider this an update...since the last time i posted:

*Ryan quit Jackson Waters and took a full-time artist management job with brite entertainment.

*We celebrated our 24th and 25th birthdays, respectively, and our 2nd wedding anniversary.

*We got a dog, a miniature schnauzer named Gus--he is awesome.

*We got a new car, because the trooper decided to "take a dirt nap." :(

*I got a promotion and am now a Starbucks Store Manager...I have my own store in Brentwood, TN.

we have always had a great life, and we are thrilled by the fun changes that have occured in the past few months! life is grand. thanks for listening.

On Sleeping Alone...

I am married to a man who travels for a living. He is still frequently home, so our lives are always in some sort of transitional period. Luckily, I’m a very independent girl and I’m not often afraid or lonely when he’s gone.
However, sleeping alone is something that I always have to relearn how to do. Growing up, my little sister was frequently scared at night and nine times out of ten I woke up with her in bed with me. In high school my friend, Mary and I, once spent over 275 nights in one year at each other’s houses—sharing a bed. In college, my friends and I would take naps together, Ryan being one of those friends. The point I’m trying to make here is that for the most part of my life I have been used to sharing a bed and I am a total snuggle bug.
So, when Ryan is away I spend my nights tossing and turning, trying to remember how to stretch out. I make “fake Ryan’s” with pillows and sleep with a teddy bear (Norman) and a squishy pillow in my arms. It usually takes two or three nights to get used to sleeping alone.
Then of course, I have to learn how to share the bed again once Ryan comes home.
